The Caucus was founded in 1989 as the Gay and Lesbian Caucus for Art, later becoming the Queer Caucus for Art. In 2020, following sustained and thoughtful conversations initiated recalling care by members of our community, we adopted the name Queer & Trans Caucus for Art.
This change reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion, accountability, and the evolving language and realities of our communities. Our name honors both our history and the voices that continue to shape our future.
